The AI Era and Changes in the Blogging Environment

The AI era is a time overflowing with posts created by artificial intelligence. Adopting new technology isn't necessarily a bad thing. However, it's hard to find writing that has a human touch. To share a bit about my own situation, as AI has developed, no matter what content I write, the amount of traffic from search has noticeably decreased. So I boldly reduced AdSense ads. I felt that the era of making money (side income) from blogs has also passed.

As a working journalist, I often feel that the media environment is far from favorable. While covering and writing an article about The Washington Post, owned by Amazon's Jeff Bezos, cutting hundreds of employees, I couldn't help but think that my own profession is also under threat.

Transitioning from SEO to GEO (Generative Engine Optimization)

These days, what won't leave my mind is the term GEO. While search engine optimization (SEO) was important in the past, this term can be understood as generative engine optimization. If my writing is now in a structure where it's difficult to be found on portal sites, I decided to adapt to the AI era.

 

Writing every word myself is also because I want to give readers a sense of something human. Even if there are mistakes or parts they might not agree with in my writing.

 

The AI Era: The Importance of Human Touch and Empathy

Toward the end of last year, I had the determination to somehow achieve search optimization again and revive my blog, but I couldn't shake the feeling that the times have changed rapidly, so I let everything go. I simply thought of making it a space to share my daily life.

 

In the AI era, I think data about people will be more important than ever. Whether it's personal information, preferences, or restaurant maps. But I don't have such information. Individuals are likely to be reduced to even more insignificant beings. In this harsh reality, I believe what we can trust is other neighbors with blood flowing through their veins—people. We need beings with whom we can share our hearts and empathize.

 

There was a time when I would be severely criticized for making typos as a journalist. But I don't think it will be like that going forward. I'm making a typo on purpose (intentionally). As if to prove this writing wasn't created by artificial intelligence. Ah...it's funny and sad...
